We decided we just could not stay away. We had two willing volunteers and another, Mark, came out from Paris to be with us for the weekend.
Paul and Chris managed to get the window, that appeared to be too large, to fit with the help of a plane and it was duly glazed. But not without some help from the sleeping Jennifer. Yes she was so tired she actually fell to sleep holding the window open so Paul could putty the glass - nothing to do with the alcohol of course! The reglazed window increased the inside temperature considerbly and the lounge has begun to feel comfortable. Perhaps it was the temperature that made her drousy. The corner where Paul had removed the tiles was plastered and then the sockets put in the wall and painted.
The barman ensured that everyone had a drink (well that he did anyway) and then it was time to get to work on the field.
A few little jobs that seemed to take hours to complete. Plastering in the stairs, a new door on the lounge, bringing the computer down, blocking in the passage and finally ensuring that almost all the sockets were connected.
Clearing nearly an acre of land and mostly covered with brambles is going to be a big job. Does anyone know of a good goat?
Janet complained the inside of the garage was like Blackpool Illuminations (not sure the French would see the relevance of Blackpool!) by the lighting did at least manage to ensure that the garage could be used.
